Fodor's Review

Getting to the Anantara is a pleasant adventure in itself—free shuttle boats take you across the Chao Phraya River from the Taksin Bridge. This is more a resort than a hotel, with many restaurants and a small mall connected. The big pool and garden area on the riverside make you feel a long way from downtown's bustle. All rooms are spacious and well furnished, but remember to ask for a river view. The Manohra Song, an ancient rice barge converted into a floating

restaurant, is berthed here. The only downside to the hotel is its distance from attractions—tack about 15 minutes onto your travel time for the shuttle boats, and more if you're traveling by road.
