Fodor's Review:

Sukhumvit's Marriott is conveniently located, with many restaurants and businesses nearby, but it's also around the corner from Nana Plaza, one of the city's biggest red-light districts, which might turn some people off as much as it turns others on. Rooms have the standard amenities, with firm beds that make for a good night's sleep. It's worth a few extra baht to stay on the executive floors, which have a separate lounge with complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails. The fitness center is superb, with the latest equipment and saunas. Restaurants include Man Ho, serving Cantonese fare; the White Elephant, specializing in Thai favorites; and the New York Steakhouse. Pros: very friendly staff; nice gym. Cons: not as nice as Marriott in Thonburi; close to red-light district.

Getting in and out is a little tricky for the taxi/limo drivers as its on a one-way street. On the way to the airport, the brave ones drive right by the cop and head up the on ramp, otherwise be sure to add 10 minutes for the detour.

Huge bathrooms, quiet clean rooms, complementary fruit every day. A great fitness room; doubles as a private fitness club so its got everything.

Pool is gorgeous, with black stone and a zero edge.

Service is outstanding - go for the executive level even if you have to pay for it yourself -- an honor bar and free appetizers and expedited check in/out.

Breakfast buffet has everything for every palate from Japan to Beijing to San Francisco.

I lived here for 3 months, and loved every minute of it. Look forward to my return trip every time.

Meeting rooms are large and reasonably priced.

The Sheraton down the road is not quite as warm and personal as the JW. This is the better of the two by far.
