Getting to the Marriott is a pleasant adventure in itself—free shuttle boats take you across the Chao Phraya from the Taksin bridge. This is more of a resort than a hotel, with many restaurants and a small mall connected. The big pool and garden area on the riverside make you feel a long way from downtown's bustle. All rooms are spacious and well furnished, but if you want a river view, remember to ask for it. The Manohra Song, an ancient rice barge converted into a floating restaurant, is berthed here. The only downside to the hotel is its distance from attractions—the shuttle boats are fun, but the trip will tack about 15 minutes onto your travel time, and traveling by road is even slower. Pros: resort feel; lots of activities; great service. Cons: a hassle to get into the city; may feel too secluded.

we have been staying here for over 12 years. its our overall #1 choice. they have the friendliest staff in bkk. they have the best pool in bkk. the hotel is a fantastic place for families. the riverside location adds to the appeal. we feel the air is fresher and cleaner at this location rather than downtown. the location is away from the fray, sort of an oasis and while some feel the free shuttle boatride is an annoyance, we feel just the opposite and in fact relish our daily rides. there is a small attached mall offering many services including some restaurants and some fast food places plus a drug store, tailors, massage, a bank and many more things.
WE FIND IT PERFECT IN EVERY RESPECT
