Why We Like It

The dome at Lebua is one of the most popular nightlife destinations in the city and any given night you’ll bump into the who’s who of Bangkok hi society. Beyond the trendiness, the restaurants are top-rated and the bars have endless views. Rooms are all suites and come with vertigo-inducing balconies and a slew of free amenities. Finally, the hotel is in a good central location that makes it easy to walk, catch a cab, ride the train, or get on a boat to any destination in town.

Fodor's Expert Review

The Tower Club at Lebua is an all-suite hotel that soars over the city and is instantly recognizable with its bright gold dome at the top. Famous for its prime role in The Hangover II, the hotel is a hip destination for foodies, booze-hounds, and high-end hotel enthusiasts. With a prime location, Lebua is close to great bars, restaurants, and shopping areas and the hotel does everything in its power to give guests all the info they need on the best of Bangkok.

Tip Each room in the hotel comes with access to the Tower Club Lounge where guests can munch on free breakfast, light lunches, sip afternoon tea, booze, and more.

Room

This all-suite hotel comes with oodles of amenities. Typical rooms have bright, hardwood floors, minimalist design touches, and amazing views (all rooms are from the 51st through 59th floors). Every room has a balcony, Nespresso coffee makers, kitchenettes, and complimentary mini-bar (minus the alcohol). If you're in a big group, opt for the Hangover II suite which is the actual room from the movie--minus the drugs.

Tip Get the perfect night’s sleep by choosing your pillow from their extensive pillow menu. There are literally nine options.

Bathroom

Shanghai Tang products are typical in bathrooms, as are sunken, marble tubs, walk-in showers, and bidets.

Lobby

Because of their a-typical in-room check-in process, there’s not much of a lobby to speak of but there are daily fresh flowers.

Pool

The oblong pool has a variety of daybed and lounge chair options and is flanked by the popular Café Mozu, which serves a range of Lebanese, Thai, and Indian cuisine.

Spa

A small spa shares its locker rooms with the gym and features three treatment areas for massages, facials, scrubs, and more. The locker room has both steam and sauna facilities.

Gym

Overlooking the pool, the gym is quite large and hard to miss with its bright red carpeting and ample Cybex machines and free weights.

Dining

The crown jewel of the hotel can be found in the dome on the roof. There, guests can soak up endless city views while indulging in fine dining at Mezzaluna, Mediterranean heaven at Sirocco, or even Asian delicacies at Breeze & Ocean 52.

Drinking

Like the restaurants, it’s worth coming to the dome for drinks as well. The Sky Bar at Sirocco has a precipice that hovers 820 feet over the city (don’t look down!). Cigar lovers can hang out at Distil, which also has nightly DJs. Finally, there’s Alfresco 64, which is, allegedly, the highest whiskey bar in the world and even has its own Chivas made specifically for the hotel (the bottles are in the thousands of dollars).

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Lebua is on the corner of two major streets, making it easy to hail a taxi (just mind the traffic). If you don’t like sitting in cars, you can walk about 5-minutes to the nearest BTS Skytrain station which is also where you can catch riverboat taxis at the Taksin Pier.

Restaurants

Le Normandie (6-minute walk) at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is arguably the best French restaurant in the city. If you want to indulge in authentic Thai with some dance performances thrown in, check out Salathip (6-minute walk) at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Bars

Just down the street from the hotel is Maggie Choo’s (3-minute walk), a 1930s, Shanghai-inspired bar with heavy pours and live music. While you’re at the Mandarin Oriental for dinner, head over to the Bamboo Bar (6-minute walk) and drink with other well-heeled guests in a Colonial atmosphere.
