The most memorable, impressive atmosphere of any restaurant in Bangkok—perhaps in all of Asia—is unfortunately diminished by the unimpressive food coming out of its kitchen. On the 63rd floor of one of Bangkok's tallest buildings, this is said to be the tallest open-air restaurant in the world. Its shockingly expensive, haphazard fusion menu includes many imported prestige ingredients, but it stumbles from lamb to lobster with scarcely any success. If you don't want to put up with the bad food, you can come just for a drink at the apocalyptic Sky Bar, which juts out at a gravity-defying angle; however, keep in mind that the bar doesn't offer seating. Perhaps the best strategy is to sit in the restaurant and just order something small. Be forewarned that the whole rooftop closes for windy weather from time to time.
