Fodor's Review:
This casual hotel restaurant re-creates the interior of a well-stocked spice shop during a time when the only way to get to Bangkok was by steamer. Jars of spices line wooden shelves and sacks of garlic, piles of dried chilies, and heavy earthenware jars of fish sauce are lined up on the floor amid the tables, creating an interesting atmosphere, which is unfortunately lessened somewhat by overly bright lighting. The dishes are tempered to suit the tender mouths of Westerners, but you may ask for your curry to be prepared Thai-style. Set tasting menus are a good way to sample many different dishes. Dessert selections are particularly strong here, from mango sticky rice to the various Thai confections.
