Sala Rim Naam
Sala Rim Naam Review
The main reason to come here is for the atmosphere, so skip the Thai dancing show and grab a table outside overlooking the river. As it gets dark and cools down, the twinkling lights of passing boats set quite a romantic scene. The restaurant itself is touristy, with westernized renditions of Thai food. Be pushy and demand your food spicy if you want it to resemble anything authentic. To get here, take a boat across the Chao Phraya River from the Oriental Hotel.

Would suggest dining outdoors at the restaurant's 'terrace' venue, particularly if various riverside wedding birthday / festivals fireworks are anticipated. (As was the case not too many hours back, for this year's ever-lovely edition of Loy Kratong -- special times indeed, by the river.) ... (As for viewing that beautiful Loy Kratong, we remain partial to the Peninsula's 'T' terrace restaurant, followed closely by the Oriental's terrace establishment and the Shangri-La's outdoor setting -- enormous personal / sentimental reasons, to be sure. (Also, observing fireworks at 'eye level' from one of the Peninsula's 'higher' floors and all-time cherished suites : not bad.) ... Reservations have already been made for next year's Loy Kratong celebration -- rather addicting indeed, particularly when combined with flights aboard that sensational Singapore Airlines. ... Thank you for years of unmatched service and discretion, fine Oriental, Peninsula and Shangri-La staff and management. ... (And, I look forward to seeing some of you again in beloved Bangkok, within the next few days -- sadly, strictly for work, this time.) ... Savour your joyous, uplifting times, riverside...
