River View Guest House Review
This family-run hotel is one of the few budget accommodations that overlook the river, and it's the view that sells it. The accommodations are a bit run-down and may remind you of college dorm rooms, but they're clean and comfortable. The staff will go out of its way for you, even staying up to accommodate late flights (someone sleeps downstairs during the night in case you need something). One drawback is that tuk-tuk drivers sometimes have difficulty finding the place. The easiest way to find it is to head north from the Royal Orchid Sheraton; you can see the guesthouse's sign pointing down a side street.

I stayed two nights during Chinese New Year 2010, first time in four years. I should say that River View Guest House has done a great improvement. I stayed in River Breeze room, 750 Baht, and my room has a fridge, satellite tv., balcony, great view. I can see new paints, new bed, new bathroom, only run down is old furniture and old floor but I would say that it is efficient. The tips is to get a cold beer on the roof top restaurant during sunset, fantastic!

I've visited for the first time last December. Our room has a balcony and en suite shower room. The view was fantastic! We saw the New Year fire works through our balcony over Chao Praya River, a great night to remember.
