An expansive marble lobby is your first clue that this hotel is head and shoulders above others in its price range. Rooms have pleasant furnishings and spotless baths. There's a rooftop garden for sunbathing and a small indoor pool next to the lobby. The best asset, though, may be the friendly staff. A lot of Asian tour groups stay here. The Skytrain is a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

At this price, the Manohra is hard to beat. I have heard complaints from friends and readers, but my feeling is that these people may have to pay a higher tariff to get what they are looking for. If you've only got US$20 a night for a room, this is a good choice.

I booked the hotel via Thai Airways stopover program. And they put me in a small, ugly , dirty little room. It was really sleazy. The hotel is very small and dated. The reception looks great, but that's it. The only good thing to the hotel is it's vicinity to Patpong. But that's overrated. There are much better hotels elsewhere with better location.Look somewhere else.

I chose this at the recommendation of some Thai friends. The room was clean, large by Asian standards and well furnished. Two other "plus factors" are the excellent buffet breakfast which even included eggs to order and its proximity to the expressway. It took only 20 minutes to get to the airport when I left.
