The Ambassador has everything you'd expect, and more: a dozen restaurants, a shopping center with scores of stores, and even a bird sanctuary. Its size makes it a bit impersonal, and the rooms are compact and decorated in standard-issue pastels. The Tower Wing is more comfortable, with newer and nicer facilities. The Sukhumvit Wing overlooks a busy street, so you might encounter some noise problems.

Stayed at The Ambassador many times and I've always had nothing but good experiences. The rooms are large and comfortable and the service is just devine! Many restaurants to choose from, with my favorite being The Hong Teh Chinese Restaurant. The Ambassador's location cannot be topped....just a minute's walk from Bangkok's Skytrain, which gives access to most of Bangkok without the hustle of Bangkok's legendary bad traffic.

I wasn't all that impressed by the Ambassador. The guilded lobby was nice, but the putrid smell of chemical cleaning fluids sent me running. The rooms were not in good condition, we had to change rooms twice because of various plumbing/AC problems. Plus, the rooms were not clean--the bathroom had shampoo spilled everywhere and hair left in the shower. In a city with so many great hotel values I would not recommend.
