Period photos of the royal family, movie stars, and beauty queens cover the pink walls of this restaurant, which is really two old teak houses. The dining rooms are filled with delightful antiques; there are also tables in the garden between the houses. The mieng khun, a traditional snack of dried shrimp, dried coconut, peanuts, pineapple, chili pepper, and sweet tamarind sauce rolled together in a green leaf, makes an excellent appetizer. Afterward, move on to
the chopped pork with chili sauce, beef fillet with pickled garlic, or whole grouper, served steamed or fried. The restaurant is about 100 yards down Soi 17, across the street from Panthip Plaza, the giant electronics market.
