This little place with bare walls and tile floor serves superb pet (roast duck) and moo daeng (red pork), making it a favorite of many locals. The place is famous for its wonton noodle soup, reputed to be the best in Bangkok. It's been in business for more than a century, and wealthy Thai families often send their maids here to bring dinner home. You may want to follow their lead, as the dining room can get crowded. Whether you eat in or take out, get here early—by 6 pm there's often little duck left, and by 8:30 pm the doors are shut tight. Finding Prachak is a bit challenging, as it doesn't have an English sign. It's on busy Charoen Krung, across the street from the big Robinson shopping center near the Shangri-La Hotel.
