Fodor's Review

Master chef David Thompson won accolades for his Thai eatery in London, and his newly opened outpost in Bangkok has been called one of the world's best restaurants. Nahm may be run by a foreigner, but the Thai food here is better than anything else you will find in Bangkok, with all the dishes bursting with flavor and not softened for foreign palates. Standout dishes include the blue swimmer crab with coconut and turmeric curry, frog with chilies and cumin leaves, and grilled southern mussels. Better yet, you can sample all the best dishes by choosing the set menu for 1,700 baht. There's also an extensive wine list with bottles from around the globe to compliment the fantastic food.

Bangkok Business (& Leisure) Dining Delight

During a recent (15-22 May, '15) Bangkok business trip, had the honour of dining at this special restaurant with the mrs. and a cherished Bangkok-based Thai couple. Years back, had the pleasure of dining at Nahm's departed London location during business trips; the Bangkok edition is a worthy successor. (And should add, I've dined at the Nahm, BKK location in the past with business colleagues.) This recent celebratory Nahm dinner with the loved one

and the lovely couple was particularly personal and seamless, no doubt to our long-time friends being long-time friends of Nahm management and staff. Owing to their friendships, we enjoyed a perfect table for four and some special tastings not listed on the menu. Perfect evening -- and a most satisfying Bangkok business travel stay that also included memorable dinners at Gaggan (fine as ever) and Chon Thai (our Thai friends do have a bit of a connection to that memorable place at The Siam hotel). Flew out of BKK on 22 May for a week's work in Burma (Myanmar), where the cuisine was, well, rather different (but that's for another review). Savour your Nahm times in beloved Bangkok.
