$$$-$$$$, Thonburi
Fodor's Review:
Getting to the Marriott is a pleasant adventure in itself -- free shuttle boats take you across the Chao Phraya from the Taksin bridge. This is more of a resort than a hotel, with many restaurants and a small mall connected. The big pool and garden area on the riverside make you feel a long way from the bustle of Downtown. All rooms are spacious and well furnished, but if you want a river view, remember to ask for it. The Manohra Song, an ancient rice barge converted into a floating restaurant, is berthed here. The only downside to the hotel is its distance from attractions -- the shuttle boats are fun, but the trip takes some time, and traveling by road is even slower.
