Fodor's Review:
After checking in on the ground floor, you soar up to your room at this 60-story hotel. The light-filled suites in the slender tower all have sweeping views of the city. The generous use of native woods in everything from the large desks to the walk-in closets gives each room a warm glow. A fully equipped spa offers the latest treatments, and a sundeck on the 53rd floor beckons with a relaxing whirlpool. For meals or a drink in the evening there's the rooftop Vertigo, which the hotel claims is Asia Pacific's highest alfresco eatery. In September you can test your fitness in the annual "vertical marathon" up the hotel's stairs. Note that about 80 rooms were being added (to be ready in late 2007) to the property in a refitted neighboring building -- if you prefer to be in the main tower, be sure to specify.

Oriental service in downtown Bangkok

If you can, book into a Tree Club room so have access to the Club Lounge. The latter is a perfect place to relax with a complimentary drink after a tiring day shopping. Service here is on par with the Oriental, this hotel would have been perfect if it was by the river! The free shopping companion service makes this hotel special.Consistent with the Banyan experience

The rooms are all suites with separate living and sleeping areas. The rooms are woody, if you like that kind of ambience. Service is expectedly excellent all round. The rooftop restaurant rivals Sirocco for the view and food
