Getting Here & Around

By Bus

Air-conditioned buses from Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal leave for Sangklaburi four times a day (6½ hours, B330). The last direct bus to Bangkok leaves Sangklaburi early in the afternoon. Air-conditioned buses from Kanchanaburi (3 hours) leave hourly between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm. The guesthouses are accessible by motorcycle taxi (B10) or songthaew (B60) from the bus station.

By Car

The 2½- to 3-hour drive from Kanchanaburi, on Route 323, is along good roads beside fields of pomelo, corn, and banana palms, with Myanmar's mist-shrouded mountains in the distance, then winding through the mountains.

By Motorcycle Taxi

Motorcycle taxis (B10-B20) are the favored way to get around this sprawling provincial town. For longer trips, ask your hotel or guesthouse to arrange car transport.
