Fodor's Review

A 30-minute performance in which elephants haul logs, play soccer, and reenact the Yutha Harti, a 16th-century elephant-back battle between a Thai king and an invading Burmese prince, is the highlight of the Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo. The facilities are a bit dated, and the elephants don't seem to be in great shape—ultimately it's not worth it if you don't have kids who are dying to ride an elephant. Other attractions include an orchid nursery. Avoid the "crocodile

wrestling" show, in which practically comatose animals are dragged around by their tails.
