Apple Retreat and Guesthouse Review

At this longtime favorite, choose between guesthouse rooms set around a central courtyard and simple, comfortable rooms in a two-story building on the opposite side of the river. Apple's Retreat is set in an orchard, with rooms opening onto a lovely garden. The setting is definitely tranquil and is a great choice for those wishing to enjoy the quieter side of Kanchanaburi life. The place runs two-day treks (B2,950 per person) that include a stay in a Karen village. The staff can also pick you up at the train or bus station. The owners teach a one-day Thai cooking course, which starts off with a market visit by bicycle and ends with six prepared dishes.
