When to Go

When to Go

On weekends and national holidays (particularly during the mid-April Buddhist New Year water festival), Kanchanaburi and the restaurants at Samut Songkram are packed with Thais. In high season (November-March) the floating market in Damnoen Saduak has more tourists than vendors. The waterfalls of Kanchanaburi Province are at their best during or just after the rainy season (June-November). The fossil shells in Don Hoi Lod in Samut Songkram are best seen in dry season or at low tide in rainy season. See the fireflies in Ampawa between May and October.
