Fodor's Expert Review Underwater World

Sentosa Island Observatory

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

The traditional aquarium experience is reversed at Underwater World, where aquariums surround you. Two gigantic tanks house thousands of Asian-Pacific fish and other marine life; you walk through a 100-yard acrylic tunnel that curves along the bottom. There are sharks, giant octopuses, stingrays, moray eels, and the gorgeous little weedy sea dragons of Australia. Crowd pleasers also include piranhas, electric eels, a dugong (sea cow), and pink dolphins. Try to visit the Dolphin Lagoon, which is outside the park at Tanjong Beach. You can get really close to dolphins at this attraction. The admission price is included with your Underwater World ticket. You can observe and even interact with the animals in feeding and training sessions scheduled throughout the day.
