Mandarin Orchard Singapore Review

The grand main lobby in this large hotel has black-and-white Italian marble and a huge mural called 87 Taoist Immortals and based on an 8th-century Chinese scroll. Guest rooms have Asian themes with modern amenities, and the upper floors command fabulous views. Deluxe rooms have separate shower cubicles. The restaurants, which are frequented by locals, serve Cantonese cuisine (at Mandarin Court on the 35th floor) and award-winning chicken rice (at Chatterbox). Pros: local cuisine; central location; trusted brand. Cons: tour groups can make for a crowded lobby.

Plain building but very nice room. Convenient location

I stayed one night. Check in was easy and I was given a complimentary upgrade to the newly referbished wing. The room was a little small but very nice. Great bathroom too. The hotel is big and a bit impersonal feeling.
