Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee

Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee Review

Previously, this was a small coffee shop, which doubled as a meeting point for Australian, New Zealand, Irish, and British troops stationed in Singapore. After the troops left the island in the 1950s, the eatery's menu switched from western-style foods to nasi padang (rice cooked in banana leaves) from western Sumatra. Order multiple plates of beef rendang (beef curry), sayur lodeh (vegetable in spicy coconut milk), sambal sotong (chili squid), and sambal brinjal (spicy eggplant). Servings are small and meant to be shared like tapas. Meat and seafood are charged by the piece.
