Singaporean foodies are grateful that the owners of trendy Project Shop Blood Brothers didn't go through with Plan A to transform the back of their clothing store into a hair salon. Taste the food, and you'll understand their sentiments. The Blood Caesar salad has been voted the island's best by readers of an expat magazine; equally scrumptious is the homemade bread. Other highlights include the laksa pesto (pasta with laksa leaf and sunflower seed pesto, sambal, and fish cakes) and the chicken burger with sesame and Szechuan peppercorn dressing. Finding the place is tricky as there's no café sign; look for the store sign and make a beeline past the register.

Don't be put off by the last review. The gentlemen that run this restaurant know all there is to know about roast beef and although the waitress needs some more training, this situation was far from repeated onm our visit.
