Fodor's Review:
Fascinating stores selling costumes and headdresses for Muslim weddings, clothes for traditional Malay dances, prayer beads, scarves, perfumes, and much more line this road. Interspersed among the shops are small, simple restaurants serving Muslim food. Toward the Sultan Mosque, the shops have mostly religious items, including barang haji, the clothing and other requisites for a pilgrimage to Mecca.
