Inside this pyramid-shape Marina Square hotel, the level of service is second to none. Subdued, modern elegance and personal attention are the hallmarks here. Rooms are understated, with soft hues of peach and green, handwoven carpets, and paintings of old Singapore. Of special note are the Italian-marble-tile bathrooms with phones, radio, and TV speakers. One-bedroom suites have lovely sitting rooms and separate washrooms. Café des Artistes has international fare with a daily buffet, and the Gallery Lounge has a panoramic city view and vivid works by local artists adorning the walls.

The service was excellent. Every employee was incredible helpful and kind. However, compared to other hotels in SG and other hotels of the chain, the rooms are a bit small and the funriture looks slightly cheap (However, bathrooms are fabulous).
Out of my room I had a great view to the harbour and a lot of construction sites which probably was bad luck.

I travel to Singapore a lot. My suite was small and poorly equipped compared to comparably priced rooms at the Ritz-Carlton, Raffles Plaza, Regent and Raffles hotels. Bathroom, room service food and furniture were all less good than competitors. Service was truly excellent, but it is in all these hotels. I will not come again.

We stayed at the Oriental for 3 nights in early January in one of their city suites which have separate living and sleeping areas. The service was second to none. Our 2 year old daughter was treated like a little princess everywhere we went in the hotel. The suite was comfortable and had every amenity you could want. The buffet breakfast at the Melt restaurant was amazing with local as well as western goodies. There is a mall attached to the hotel which is handy and the location by the marina is very pretty. We'll definitely be back.
