Located in Dempsey Hill's Civil Service Club, an airy colonial edifice with wooden-louvered windows and overhead fans, Samy's Curry has a charming and casual feel that's distinct from the more upscale ambience typical in Dempsey Hill. On offer here are flavorful and filling south Indian dishes—a parade of shuffling waiters dishes the zesty curries, fragrant rices, and sundry Indian condiments out of small buckets and onto your waiting banana leaf.

Horrible. As an Indian I knew what to expect but the experiance was depressing. Went there only because it was recommended by Fodors. Now I will think twice before following Fodors' recommendations. Oily, spicy and bad food.

We found the place from Fodors on the internet and what a great choice. For those that love unpretentious Indian food this is your place. No menu. Walk up to the serving table and select whatever strikes your fancy. We ordered crab, prawns, chicken and mutton along with garlic naan and rice and drinks. The bill was 54 SD. Wow! What great value for money. Please plan to eat with your hands as it is conducive to do so. Make certain to take
several trips to the washroom to keep you from licking your fingers (did not stop me). All in all a great tourist find as we were surrounded by locals.
