Thanousin Restaurant . You will undoubtedly pass through or get stuck in drab Udomxai going to or from Phongsaly (or Luang Nam Tha), and this small restaurant is a great place to fill up. They serve up excellent larb, and you shouldn't miss sampling the northern specialty of khao soi, a slightly spicy handmade noodle dish that Thanousin serves in giant portions.
