Nam Khan Villas Review

Proprietors Graham and Caroline have successfully combined the atmosphere of traditional Laos with the comforts of the Western world; the resort is laid out like a local village, with meandering paths connecting reconstructed 40-year-old Laotian houses set amid local flora and overlooking the Nam Khan River. The Mediterranean-style, open-air El Gecko restaurant serves delectable European and Lao tapas (Caroline has 30 years' experience catering to an international clientele in Spain). Although a bit farther from town than the other major hotels, the resort is connected via a walking path to the Ban Phanom weaving village, and tuk-tuks can be readily called for forays into town, plus bicycles are available.
