L'Opera Review

Vientiane's best Italian restaurant serves authentic pastas, baked entrees, and fresh salads. Try the Pizza de Laos (made with chilies and Lao sausage) if you're in the mood for fusion. There are also espresso and cappuccinos, plus an extensive wine list to choose from. Tables at the small front terrace look out on all the action on Nam Phu Square.

    L'Opera was once the best Italian restaurant in town. Now it is no longer, as that title goes to La Scala.
    The food at L'Opera is still good, and the location and the service are excellent. Unfortunately L'Opera has priced itself out of affordability now, and the quality has slipped a little as well.
