Fodor's Review

On display at any time are at least 2,000 items from an impressive collection. Special exhibitions vary, but they generally show how Middle Eastern art reached ancient Japan via the Silk Road, and items range from Persian glass goblets to ornate mirrors to early stringed instruments. To reach the museum from the JR Station, take the streetcar (¥140) bound for Higashiyama directly north for 10 minutes. The museum is across Asahi-gawa from Korakuen (about a 10-minute walk).
