Goyokan

Pros

  • Unique, modern take on a ryokan

Cons

  • Doesn't have the cozy feel of a true ryokan

Updated 08/19/2013

Fodor's Review

This family-run ryokan on Shuzenji's main street has rooms that look out on the Katsura-gawa, plus gorgeous stone-lined (for men) and wood-lined (for women) indoor hot springs. The staff speaks English and can make sightseeing arrangements for you.
