Fodor's Review

The views of the sea must have been the inspiration for Yokoyama Taikan, the Japanese artist who once owned this villa that is now a traditional Japanese inn with exquisite furnishings and individualized service. The spacious rooms are classically Japanese, with floor-to-ceiling windows. The prices are high, but bear in mind that they include a multicourse dinner of great artistry, served in your room, and breakfast the next morning. There are also indoor and outdoor hot-springs

baths. The inn is a 10-minute walk west from Atami Station.
