Kushinobo

Kushinobo Review

The lively action of the cooks frying kushi-age (skewered meat, fish, and vegetables) coupled with good-value lunch and dinner sets make Kushinobo popular with university students, office workers, and families. For the omakase dinner set, the chefs choose skewers that are in season and fry them in front of you—they keep 'em coming into you call uncle. There are more than 40 different meats, seafood, and vegetables to choose from, and they're served with traditional and original sauces. Round off your meal with a selection from the extensive list of sake and shochu—these are not bottomless, however.

Expense account heaven, with a delightful atmosphere and rather interesting 'people watching'. (An appreciated change from certain, full-on 'scene' Tokyo business travel restaurants.) ... Have always dined with at least two Japanese business colleagues; they have never failed to come up with most satisfying suggestions. (And one 'knows' a long-time employee; fine service, indeed.) ... Combine this place with a good week of meetings; Singapore Airlines R/F/J, in/out of Narita; massage treatments with skilled masseuses; and, well, you have the partial ingredients for a life-long 'yen' for Tokyo business (and occasional pleasure) trips. ... Savour your joyous times, in the Land of the Rising Sun...
