Tokyo Midtown
Tokyo Midtown Review
The trend towards luxury, minicity development projects, which started with Roppongi Hills in 2003, is changing the dynamic of the city. With Tokyo Midtown, Mitsui Fudosan created the tallest building in Tokyo—the 248-meter main tower rises 10 meters higher than Mori Tower at Roppongi Hills. Office, residential, and retail spaces fill out the development. Inside the complex's park is architect Tadao Ando's slope-roofed design center 21_21 Design Sight, a gallery and exhibition space that covers 1,700 square meters.
