$, Shinjuku-ku
Fodor's Review:
Both the undulating tower and stouter annex of the Shinjuku Washington represent the typical Japanese business hotel: service is computerized as much as possible, and the rooms -- utterly devoid of superfluous features -- are just about big enough for the furniture and your luggage. In-room massage chairs, however, are a nice touch. The third-floor lobby has an automated check-in and checkout system; you are assigned a room and provided with a plastic card that opens the door and the minibar. The price is a bargain, but the staff speaks limited English and Shinjuku Station is 10 minutes away or more on foot.
