Ryokan Sansuiso Review

Budgeteers appreciate this basic ryokan, a two-story building near Gotanda Station and the Meguro River, where sakura (cherry) trees bloom each April. The proprietor will greet you with a warm smile and a bow and escort you to a small tatami room with a pay TV, a yukata, a Japanese tea set, and a rather noisy heater-air-conditioner mounted on the wall. Some rooms are stuffy, and only two have private baths, but the Sansuiso is clean, easy to find, and only 20 minutes by train from Tokyo Station or Ginza. Multiple high-rises have recently cast a shadow over this inn (and make it a little more difficult to find), but you won't be staying here for the scenery. Since it's part of the Japanese Inn Group, the Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) can help you make reservations.
