Fodor's Expert Review Royal Park Hotel Tokyo
2–1–1 Nihonbashi Kakigara-cho, Tokyo, Tokyo-to, 103-8520, Japan
A passageway connects this hotel to the Tokyo City Air Terminal, where you can easily catch a bus to Narita Airport, making the Royal Park a great one-night stopover option. Upon entering the spacious, marble-clad lobby decked out in wood-paneled columns and a silver-and-gold chandelier, guests are greeted by exceptionally friendly staff. Various shades of brown decorate the interiors of the well-proportioned rooms, which, on the standard room floors, are a tad outdated. The best rooms are those on the Executive Floors (12–18) with a view of the Sumida River, and those on floors 6–8 overlooking the hotel's delightful Japanese garden.
PROS
- convenient airport access
- nice lobby
- warm, friendly service
CONS
- not located near downtown
- immediate area deserted on weekends
- beginning to show its age
