Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka Review

Designed by world-renowned architect Kenzo Tange, the V-shaped Grand Prince creates a spaceship feel not too dissimilar to that of its cousin, the Shinjuku Park Tower building, which houses the Park Hyatt. Rooms from the 20th to the 30th floor offer the best views of the city, especially at night. A white-and-pale-gray color scheme accentuates the light from the wide windows that run the length of the rooms. This affords a feeling of spaciousness, though the rooms—oddly shaped because of Tange's attempt to give every accommodation a "corner" location—are a bit small compared to those in other deluxe hotels. The Tatami Suite, featuring traditional Japanese furnishings, is available for around ¥100,000.
