Roppongi Hills

Fodor's Review:

In 2003, Mori Building Company—Japan's biggest commercial landlord—created Roppongi Hills, a complex of shops, restaurants, residential and commercial towers, a nine-screen cineplex, the Grand Hyatt hotel, and a major art museum—all wrapped around the TV Asahi studios and sprawled out in five zones from the Roppongi intersection to AJuban. To navigate this mini-city, go to the information center to retrieve a 12-page floor guide with color-coded maps in English; most of the staff members speak a modicum of English as well. English Tours (03/6406-6677. Daily 9-6. Roppongi Hills walking tour (45 min) ¥1,500; Quick tour (30 min) ¥1,000) are available from the information center, booked 7 days in advance online or by phone.
