Tokyo Nightlife

Ageha

Ageha Review

This massive bay-side venue has the city's best sound system and most diverse musical lineup. The cavernous Arena hosts well-known house and techno DJs, the bar plays hip-hop, a summer-only swimming-pool area has everything from reggae to break beats, and inside a chill-out tent there's usually ambient or trance music. Because of its far-flung location and enormous capacity, Ageha can be either a throbbing party or an embarrassingly empty hall, depending on the caliber of the DJ. Free buses to Ageha depart every half hour between 11 pm and 4:30 am from the stop opposite the Shibuya police station on Roppongi-dori, a three-minute walk from Shibuya Station (there are also return buses every half hour from 11:30 pm to 5 am).
