Seibu

  • Address: 1-28-1 Minami Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo
  • Phone: 03/3981-0111

Fodor's Review:

Even Japanese customers have been known to get lost in this mammoth department store; the main branch is in Ikebukuro. The Shibuya branch, which still carries an impressive array of merchandise, is smaller and more manageable. Seibu has an excellent selection of household goods, from furniture to china and lacquerware, in its stand-alone Loft shops (often next door to Seibu branches, or occasionally within the department store itself).

  • Open: Daily 10-9
  • Subway: JR Yamanote Line; Marunouchi and Yurakucho subway lines, Ikebukuro Station (Minami-guchi/South Exit); Seibu Ikebukuro Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Station (Seibu Department Store Exit); Tobu Tojo Line, Tobu Ikebukuro Station (Minami-guchi/South Exit)
  • Other location: 21-1 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, 03/3462-0111, Metro: JR Yamanote Line; Ginza and Hanzo-mon subway lines, Shibuya Station (Hachiko Exit for JR, Exits 6 and 7 for subway lines)
