Asakusa and Ueno

Asakusa and Ueno Review

While sightseeing in Asakusa and Ueno, take time to stroll through its arcades. At first glance, many of the goods sold here are the kinds of souvenirs you can find in any tourist trap. Look a little harder and you can find small backstreet shops that have been making beautiful wooden combs, delicate fans, and other items of fine traditional craftsmanship for generations. Also here are the cookware shops of Kappabashi, where you can load up on everything from sushi knives to plastic lobsters.
