Aoyama and Omotesando

Fodor's Review:

You can find boutiques by many of the leading Japanese and Western designers in Aoyama, as well as elegant, but pricey, antiques shops on Kotto-dori. Aoyama tends to be a showcase not merely of high fashion but also of the latest concepts in commercial architecture and interior design. The centerpiece of Omotesando (a short stroll from Aoyama) is the long, wide avenue running from Aoyama-dori to Meiji Jingu. Known as the Champs-Elysées of Tokyo, the sidewalks are lined with cafés and designer boutiques, both foreign and domestic. There are also several antiques and souvenir shops here. Omotesando is perfect for browsing, window-shopping, and lingering over a café au lait before strolling to your next destination.
