National Diet Building

  • Address: 1-7-1 Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo

Fodor's Review:

This building, which houses the Japanese parliament, is the perfect example of post-WWII Japanese architecture; on a gloomy day it seems as if it might have sprung from the screen of a German Expressionist movie. Started in 1920, construction took 17 years to complete. The Prime Minister's residence, Kante, is across the street.

  • Subway: Marunouchi subway line, Kokkai-Gijido-mae Station (Exit 2)
