Jidaiya Review

Entering Jidaiya, which loosely translates as "period house," is like stepping into an Edo-period tavern. Most locals order from ornately drawn strips of paper that hang high on the walls. If you are not sure what to order, order the omakase—chef's choice, and you will be served a selection of shabu-shabu, tempura, sushi, rice dishes, and grilled fish. The food is nothing fancy, but it's filling and delicious, and the setting is more than memorable.
