Prince Hotel Shinagawa

4–10–30 Takanawa, Tokyo, 108-8611, Japan

Just a three-minute walk from JR Shinagawa Station, the Prince is a sprawling complex that's part hotel (with four towers) and part entertainment village, featuring everything from a bowling alley to tennis courts to a 10-screen movie theater. The guest rooms, pleasantly put together in a simple white-and-brown design, tend to be on the small side overall, and the singles in the East Tower are truly tiny, with space for a bed and a little else. Those traveling with families should book the large twins to better accommodate the kids. For family entertainment, there are game centers and an aquarium. For parents, the Top of Shinagawa Lounge has spectacular views of Tokyo Bay. Be warned: the complex is swamped with families on weekends and the layout can be confusing.
