Fodor's Review

Specializing in quality folk crafts like lacquerware, dyed fabrics, kites, and pottery, this shop is composed of several small buildings around a courtyard. You can walk through the charming courtyard to a small kohi-kan (coffee shop), where cold water is available to everyone. Along the wall to the left are poems by famous local poet Miyazawa Kenji. To get here, cross the river on Asahibashi and take the first left onto a funky little street that leads to the main shop, 50 yards down on the left.
