Godai-do Review

Just to the right of the ferry pier in Matsu-shima is this small temple constructed in 1609 at the behest of Masamune Date. The temple is on a tiny islet connected to the shore by two small arched bridges. Animals are carved in the timbers beneath the temple roof and among the complex supporting beams.
