The biggest advantage to this hotel is its location, a block and a half from Hirosaki Castle. Ask for a room on the seventh or eighth floor; these have been most recently refurbished. As Hirosaki boasts excellent French fare, the New Castle has a wonderful brasserie and boulangerie. If you decide to have breakfast here, the Bellevue restaurant on the ninth floor offers a Japanese-Western buffet. If the weather is cooperative, get some fresh brioche from the bakery and take a stroll to Hirosaki Park. The hotel is a 15-minute walk or short taxi ride northwest of the station.
