Yashima

An east-lying district of Takamatsu, Yashima is home to two captivating attractions: the historical preserve Shikoku Mura and the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum, a superb sculpture park (technically in a neighboring district, Mure). Local Kotoden trains leave Kawara-machi Terminal and head to Yashima and Yakuri (two stops farther down). Coming by car or bike from the Chuo-koen, go east along Route 11 past the love hotels and pachinko parlors and make a left at the McDonald's to arrive at Shikoku Mura. Each way takes between 25 and 30 minutes.
